Hands off my laundry during Coronavirus!

I wouldn’t hang around inside waiting for my washing on a campsite, I check how long machine is going to be and return at the appropriate time usually to find it wants another few mins.
If it’s a Laundrette in I would do as above.
If it’s an outdoors one I sit in the car/van.
I have, long time ago, removed washing from a machine but there was a sign on wall saying to do that, not something I would normally do!

wouldn't be worried about somebody touching my washing in this scenario, you're at much more risk touching anything where people gather, pub,supermarket,public transport than this instance.

think wearing gloves makes you less likely to sanitise your hands as much , no different to having the

Small bottle of water and small bar of soap. It’s far more effective at killing the virus. I have them in my car, in my motorbike top box and in my rucksack. Simple really.

Just don't become obsessed by it , CV19 is going nowhere , I've no idea how old you are but don't spend the rest of your life worrying about it , if you take sensible precautions it's as much as you can do, this could go on for years.

The washing machines on the French supermarkets send you a text when finished .Good idea .

We have 3 local washing machine/dryers attached to garages, available 24/7, near me. They are similar to the French ones and will phone you ahead of finishing time. You can select the time of the call

I use soap /water in the van but not a lot of use when I'm wanting to use in in the shop ,after card use, when I'm waiting at a table, when I'm chatting?

I don't .It doesn't bother me in the slightest & I don't expect to catch it. I just put gloves on as I get in the van in the morning , sanitise + the steering wheel, gear stick handbrake etc; drive off . Get out, mask on, sanitise as & when .door handles etc . + I'm using everyones sanitiser entering shops which is mainly gel so if gloves become sticky even after rewashing or sanitising I change to new ones. just becomes habit. Same as I check the oil, water, brake fluid etc, every time before using vehicles or before I drive off after a stop.

we would not be happy about somebody removing washing, but would accept they had a right , if it was a Pensioner they are always in a hurry especially in a Supermarket !!! but, when I'm waiting in a shop as a Pensioner waiting I often say when they are charging about , I'm the only Pensioner that is not in a hurry that slows them up ,so don't meet me in a Supermarket because I might embarrass you !!

Problem?. I suffer from "acquired" dermatitis, the result of years of working in industry and onboard Ships. The result is that most sanitisers are a No No. With that in mind I have a large stock of Nitrile Gloves. Which I use whenever I am forced to handle stuff in shops and superstores etc. Back at the car I remove them and bag. Once back home I wash with ordinary soap and water. I have been asked to put Sanitiser on the gloves though!.

The consensus amongst the boffins now is the risk of catching the virus by touching a surface is negligible. The main method of transmission is breathing in droplets someone else has exhaled. So if you were in the same room as these people this was a much greater risk than them touching your washing.

I agree with sanitising your gloves as you will likely have touched other stuff with them, just as you would with bare hands.

I've always preferred comfort over fashion ... you stick with your thong cutting you in half and I'll stick with my lovely comfy 'big girl' knickers!

A mate of mine made me laugh about 25 years ago, I bought a car and it had a passenger airbag which was rare at the time , only it just said passenger airbag on the dash pad, nothing to show where it was

He was looking at it and asked how it worked , if you crash does the glovebox open and fling a pair of knickers at you attached to the front of an airbag

Honda went one further on the goldwing , you get the arse as well
