Just got back from 5 days at Haltwhistle CCC site.

Nice little site, very quiet. Wardens Barry and Wendy very friendly and helpful. Facilities immaculate. :thumb:

Met some nice people. Tuggers though :Eeek: :Rofl1:

Smashing walks, you can buy a pack of 20 walks for a fiver from the shop.

Had a great week although the weather could have been better.

Used Jungle Formula on ourselves, Jungle Formula plug in in the van (very effective, dead midgies all over in the morning) got a couple of bites despite this nothing 100% I suppose. :thumb:

We're in same part of the country, at Beadnell Bay C&CC site. Right next to a lovely sandy and rocky beach.
We fled to the east coast after a night at Kielder Forest campsite, where we were swamped by midges and the weather was damp and gloomy.
Great little site at Beadnell, busy with weekenders earlier, but now almost emptied.
Nice wide entrance for larger outfits and good clean facilities. No EHU's tho', but who needs them with all this sunshine (liar!).
Visited Craster and got a pair of locally smoked kippers for this morning's breakfast,
delicious!
Off to visit the magnificent Bamburgh Castle tomorrow.
