Halfords Leisure Batteries

Halfords is a quick visit if you need something quick but always check with a local car parts shops first.

No disrespect meant to alvinlee01 . Good luck to them for getting the replacement. More a comment on Halford’s trading practices.

None taken, I couldn't care less.
I actually took it in as they have a free recycle service, the guy tested it, confirmed it was goosed and spoke over me as I explained I was fully intending to buy a new one. I was hardly going to argue the point and insist he took my hundred pounds!!
I am pretty certain their prices didn't go up after I left the store!!

I don’t think that your stroke of good luck, on its own, is likely to shatter Halford’s share price. ;) Good luck to you.

At least you had better service from Halford’s than I got from my local Approved Workshop on Tuesday.

10% off for AA members at Halfords.

Already mentioned I think but get a TRADE Card (fairly easy) and the HLB700 is £88

I've found several items cheaper at Halfords than available online.... Bike stuff, leisure batteries, body repair stuff....

I nearly mis took ‘body repair stuff’ as something I really need!
Then I realised you were probably referring to vehicle bod repair.😂😂

Until you have a warranty issue, they are appalling with after service, by that I mean Yuasa
Yes they maybe, however if you buy from Halfords it's up to them to deal with Yuasa.

Nothing wrong with Halfords but watch their prices. Sometimes competitive other times not. My most recent purchase was a £15 real leather steering wheel cover which looks great, and is excellent quality. At Halfords.

Try the Battery Mega store, Tweksbury, Battery make,Much more choice, better price and they will del it to your door.
and they will talk /advise you about your charging system. important for the life of your new battery.
I,m not associated, just a very happy customer,

I have just replaced my two leisure battery’s, got them from Tayna really good service ordered on line at 7am delivered next day at 11am. (y)

Never had a problem with a Battery warranty issue at Halfords just produce the receipt describe the issue and they exchange it for a new one

I would suggest visiting or enquiring at a specialist battery firm for expert advice before spending your cash. They should have more technical knowledge and advise on a wider range of products to suit your needs and your budget. BatteryWarehouse, Grimsby maybe is your nearest?

Yes, the pro torque wrenches are made by Norbar and excellent kit, as are most of the Halfords professional tools. Been using their socket sets for nearly 20 years at home and work They agreed to supply one to my employer at an excellent price, so when I went to pick it up I asked if they'd let me have another and match it. They did. Only had to replace one ratchet wrench, changed without a quibble.

And many of their prices are quite reasonable - comparable with or sometimes cheaper than other suppliers of the same parts - with a Trade Card.

Agree with you Tanya do deliver quickly and their prices are quite good, however I bought 10 Yuasa batteries from them and 1 failed. Although they replaced it it cost me £17.00 to send it back.

What does EFB battery mean?
enhanced flooded battery

An enhanced flooded battery (EFB) is an entry level battery for cars that support start-stop technology. EFBs are wet-filled and similar to standard flooded batteries. ... This means the battery recovers more quickly, as its application needs to handle heavy-duty, cyclic, start-stop applications.
To my knowledge you need a vent to the outside on flooded batteries or they’ll gas and set the alarm off.

Even if they are "sealed " batteries ?

A VRLA battery (valve-regulated lead–acid battery), more commonly known as a sealed battery or maintenance free battery, is a type of lead-acid rechargeable battery. Due to their construction, they do not require ventilation, can be mounted in any orientation, and do not require constant maintenance.

<Broken link removed>

Considering some leisure batteries are just relabelled car batteries at worst and slightly differing in construction (thicker lead plates) in best cases.....I think the same as the above will apply to leisure batteries.

Thanks just wondered as my wired in gas monitor "peeps " now and again during the night --(must be my feet then ! )

It probably has a backup battery in that is getting low.....my wired ones in the house have a square 9v (calculator type) battery in them. 👍🏼

If your gas detector would pick up hydrogen, it must be very expensive. A hydrogen gas detector for battery rooms, ups and telecom stand by back up, cost quite a bit. And the gas build up for any dangerous levels, it’s quite a bit. A battery if it boils all of its electrolyte in a van, is still not enough hydrogen air mix for going off.
