Hello,

It seems that the habitation door does not trigger the alarm when the alarm is on and the door is opened. It used to do that before. The habitation door unlock button doesn't unlock the door, we have to use the physical key.
The other issue is that the motorhome no longer beeps when pressing the alarm button - both lock/unlock - perhaps the two issues are related?

Does anybody know what is going on...?
Thank you
Adam

It always a good idea to state the make and type of alarm fitted for other to help.

When you say that there are no beeps when you press the button, does it also not lock the van? That may point to a battery issue in the fob and no connection being made.

Would it normally beep if unable to lock because a door not shut properly, if not then it could be one of the contacts in a door needs attention.

The alarm is Cat 1 Scorpion Thatcham alarm.

Normally the van beeped on lock and unlock. The cabin still locks and unlocks correctly with the press of the buttons.

We lock the habitation door by pushing in the inside door handle and closing the door. Initially the hab. door button unlocked the door but no longer does that.

On some alarms the beep is turned on or off by pressing and holding (for a second or two) the lock and unlock buttons at the same time. You could give that a try.

Sounds like an issue with the hab door lock itself. Hopefully someone who knows will be along soon.

Yes, our Autowatch alarm has that feature but it seems as if it is not just the beeps but the door does not unlock.

I also have autowatch and if I use the cab remote it always beeps but using the autowatch fob allows you to silently lock / unlock which great for the night time so it doesn’t disturb others.

I think some Thatcham alarm categories require wired door sensors but sometimes they have radio sensors which have a small button battery in them. These batteries need replacing from time to time.

Is there a sensor above the door that requires a battery?

Got most of the issues sorted now. Turns out the beeping and the hab door not triggering the alarm was because I had inserted that "kill all alarms" fob sometime in the past. The one left of the steering wheel. Once I inserted it there again it all started working.
The issue remaining is the hab door lock/unlock button not doing anything.

It could be the contact wires on the hinge side have come adrift quite common mine was only just connected from new and kept an intermittent fault like yours, easy to check just unscrew plate and check the wires are all in and not screwed up on the insulation of the wire

There are two small wires behind these contacts which on the Hartal door have a habit of coming away. It's relatively easy to re connect them.
