We have have a 5 year old A Class Burstner which we have had from new. We have had annual damp checks to maintain the warranty but never had a habitation check.
A Habitation will check will test that the Gas and Electricity is safe and conforms to Regs, when I had mine done they replaced the gas pipe from the bottles because it was more than 7 years old.
Not sure if its necessary but mine did not cost that much for peace of mind
All depends who is doing it.
I have used an independent motorhome engineer for years and he does a thorough job in my opinion.
He pressure tests the gas system, checks the cooker and heating to make sure is running correctly. He checks all locker locks are lubricated and work as they should. He has a check list ,and unlike other firms iv used,he doesn’t just tick the boxes,he checks everything. And of course he does a thorough damp test through out, which ours has past for the last 8 years with no issue.
It does help if you can stay with the person while they are doing the hab check to see what they do.
