Hab check or Water ingress check, worth looking into as it's two different things, you can have one without the other. Certainly we did, just getting the must have ingress check, circa £140.00.

Mine booked in next month, dealer price £260 but necessary for warranty. Previously paid £99 for just a damp check on older motorhome at independent repairer.

Carado only need a damp ckeck for the water ingress warranty if the dealer tells you it needs a hab check you have been ripped off.
Damp check about £150 in the UK, €70 in Belgium, had all our Hymers done in Belgium never had a hab check.

No, from the supplying dealer Goodmans Motorhomes. That was for a Sunlight, which are made in the factory as Corado's.

The other issue if you have a manufacturer warranty is that most dealers won't do warranty work unless you bought the vehicle from them. Even if the dealer is a dealer for the same manufacturer. We moved house but will have to travel back to where we bought the vehicle to get the hab check done to maintain the warranty.

Main dealers often refuse to do warranty work because the hourly rate they get from the manufacturer is a lot lower than their own normal rate.

What do they do in the hab service that maintains the warranty, most manufacturers only care about ingress checks.

Last summer our dealership went bust the week before our hab check/damp check was due. I contacted the manufacturer asking if I could use a registered mobile repairer they said that is okay but would need to find a dealership next year who will agree to take on any water ingress warranty work in return for them doing the damp/habitation checks for the remaining 3 years of the warranty.
The mobile guy was extremely thorough and charged £150 for the hab/damp check compared with £240 at the dealership plus around £50 diesel, not to mention having to get up at silly o'clock to get there. If my van was out of warranty it would be a no brainer to use the mobile guy 👍

My point was I doubt you need it for the warranty, I’d check if I was you. We bought our van new and confirmed with Knaus beforehand that all they required was a damp check each year, I’m actually trying to think what I could do to any items on the van to service them.
