Hab door not opening with central locking

I have a 5 week old Chausson Etape 650Line motorhome. The habitation door will not now open on the outside when the central locking is opened. All that happens is a loud click when you would expect the lock to release.The cab door opens. On locking the cab door locks and the hab door gives the regular lock feel. You can hear the noise in the hab door of it locking and unlocking.
I have seen some motorhome threads about using the lock button in the cab but with no luck. Same with using the individual key and not the central locking mechanism
Is there a simple fix or is it a warranty repair.

Our van was like that when we purchased it, the fault was a badly fitted spring in the lock mechanism.

My son had a similar (the same?) hab door issue with his Chausson. Although we could hear the solenoid in the door clunking the operating rod connecting the solenoid to the lock tongue had become disconnected.
