Hi

Have bought a motorhome through a broker who also provided a hab check. A few days after taking ownership of the van we noticed a damp spot and it was reading at 35%. On checking the damp report part of the hab check the workshop advised nothing to report as nothing was over 15% ie Dry van. What comeback do I have? We would not have bought the van with readings that high.

Speak to the broker about your concerns and findings.
Clear, polite and concise with the evidence.
They may say the hab test is like an MOT, only relevant on the day it's conducted ?
It will probably come down to hoping for some goodwill and reaching an agreement.
Can you tell us age make model etc ?

Hab check was done a few days before we received the van. We are dealing with the broker just now and waiting to see what the outcome is. Hoping they are going to be reasonable as we also sold our van through the same broker who insisted we had a hab check and get some damp issues that they found fixed. Won’t mention the make and age just now. Thanks
