After a very, very wet Autumn 🍂 we realised that an Autumn/Winter build on the drive was never going to happen so ended up biting the bullet and sub letting a unit on a nearby industrial estate.

It was a huge dent in the budget but I would recommend it to anyone, it makes a huge difference in productivity.

Anyway, after 4 months in the unit and somewhere North of 600 hours work, Groot is finally back home 🏡.

Finishing touches between now and Friday, shakedown at Chester Lakes this weekend, then down to see Jaws and his Crew at Swaffham.

Thanks to everyone that chirped in on some of my questions, especially Raul and Lenny HB .

Hope to see you all in a field sometime soon!!!

Cheers

Put him on a weigh bridge with the following results..

20230517_134051.jpg

That's with 1/2 a tank of Diesel, 1/4 fresh water and me in it.

So the front end will be marginally over with Chris on board as plated at 1650 and we'll probably sit at around 3500 in exploring trim. We'll never get near the rear plated weight at 2250.

It was interesting to add up the weight of all the bits that we would have added should we have purchased a manufactured van...

Awning 35Kg
Inverter 29Kg
Batteries 56Kg
Solar Panel 17.5Kg
Heavy Duty Cable > 5Kg
Gas 25Kg

So taking that off I recon he'd have had a payload of around 370Kg, take me out of the picture and it's closer to 500Kg.

Cheers
