Anyone had one?

I've got a GSXR1000 and GasGas EC300 enduro and both are superb.

But I want summat to make me giggle.
I went over to Gran Canaria last week to try the GasGas SM700 and it was just dull.

Now I'm thinking about a Grom to just fart about on.

Had one and loved it.

Swapped the tyres out and bars for some lower Renthal's, then it really is a lot of fun on bendy roads.

Used to make me smile every time I rode it.

I've got one and it's great fun. Like you, I've got a litre bike (MT-10) for the road. I bought this last year to take away on the motorhome. If you're a confident rider, you can chuck it into corners and it handles really well. I've had 72mph (going down a hill) and I've also gone two up on it numerous times and it'll get to 60mph. I just taxed mine and it was about £25 for the year. The insurance was super cheap too, as I added it onto my existing bike policy and it was only an additional £60 for the year. It's very light on the fuel too. When I bought it, I believe they were the first ones to have the five speed box. It's also got ABS on the front.

It's perfect for zipping about, but I wouldn't want to be doing any great distance on it.

Do you mind me asking if the tow ball mounted carrier handles it ok? Thanks Mike

Not had a Grom, but use a 500 Rebel with a straight through pipe, nicknamed "Scratch". Handles really well and puts a smile on my face every time I use it. Might be an alternative option.

Cheers
Red.

I bought a 2022 one ( 5 speed )
I now know why there is a race series for them
Peg scaping planted action.............
They even feel like bigger bike and are very comfy to ride
I did the ride out from the Bash last week on mine

BUT

Without spending a wodge of wonga it was not fast enough About 55 up even the slightest incline and 65 downhill
The problem is the bike is TOO good in every other department
It feels like it was made to go much quicker and would me soooo much better with a power polant that delivers more than 9bH
For towns you would be hard pushed to find something better but I want to use a bike for town and other riding
