Hi,

The first campsite we stayed at with a MH had a drive over grate to dispose of grey water but it seems that neither of the campsites we’ve been at this week do, offering a small grid on each pitch which some people I see have ran pipes into

Our rental had some grey plastic plumbing piping underneath to route the grey water to just behind the drivers rear wheel but the MH we bought (a 2013 Chausson Flash 03) doesnt, the water comes from the middle towards the rear once released.

Has anyone else got a similar setup and what have you attached to your van to make this easier?

We have a fixed mid vehicle outlet pipe and all we do is run a flexible "Henry Hose" to the drain point.(y)

I use a washing machine output extension hose. If it's connected all the time, it doesn't matter if it's a bit slow. I found one that is expandable from 2 metres to about 4 metres.

If the MH waste pipe is standard 40mm or 32mm waste, you can get an adapter to connect the washing machine hose. I prefer the 'compression' type rather than the 'push-fit' type, because push-fit is quite fussy about the exact pipe size, but compression is more adaptable.

If the waste pipe is a non-standard size, you can get a rubber adapter with jubilee clips to connect either to a standard bit of pipe or even directly to the washing machine pipe.

I only use it occasionally, so I pack it away when we move on, but if I used it regularly I would think about fixing something a bit more permanent to the underside of the MH.

Cheers everyone, will have to measure the outlet and raid a DIY shop to see what I can cobble together.

When we had a Chausson with the waste under the van I stuck a funnel to a length of pipe and used that to get it to the side.

I have just checked my Dethleffs grey water outlet and it even has a two and a half inch thread fitting the same size as my bath outlet pipe including the thread.
As grey water draining is a problem most of us have, I would be interested in what novel solutions others have.

I asked a similar question a little while ago - our Chausson has 40mm waste outlet, I just use a push fit connector with a short length of flexi sink waste connector from a DIY store - see photo - not had any problems with that.

I bought a length of 32mm flexible pipe from a C&MHC site, but not yet had to use that. It fits into domestic 32mm compression fittings and so connects to the sink widget when needed.

sdg.

My grey water tank in insulated and has a hole underneath, the empty handle/shaft just opens a slider to empty it, no way of putting in a extension pipe.
Use a Jerry can with a side screw cap pushed under the van to collect the water.
As the tank is only 20cm above the ground only found one Jerry can to fit.
Not the easiest and a bit messy, got a ground sheet to lay on.
Drive over drains are so much better.

DO NOT use a bucket with a little hole in it. That would be naughty!

No wonder there are so many grey water dribblers, it’s so difficult to dump your grey waste properly in the UK...

Just wait until it’s dark then crack the valve a little and let it dribble out overnight.:D

We use a bucket if there is no dedicated drain, fits anything.

Just don’t see the problem, no drive over drain so use a tote tank or a bucket or a length of flexi pipe.
My mohome has a 1.5 m length of flexi pipe clipped in the gas locker that fits the outlet at the rear so easy to pop in tank or bucket.
No need to let others suffer your waste when you leave :(

Hah and wake up with a flooded awning and a conspicuous trail of soap suds leading from it to the nearest drain ;)

Have I got it right? You attach a length of flexi hose to the drain and the other end goes somewhere useful to be carried away. You could of course bury the other end under the grass (if available), to help the roots grow.;)

Almost , the flexi hose is used to pressure the black to the back of the pitch with the grey :D

Our first trip away recently in our new Benimar was in a small camp site with no drive over waste disposal but luckily we had one of these with us : Aquamobile. Recommended to us on the owners club facebook page. A bit pricey but it worked really well and and I'm not sure what we would have done otherwise :)
