I asked C&CC who insure me about accessing a Green Card and go the following reply:

“Thank you for your recent request for a Green Card. However, there’s great news as Green Cards are no longer required for UK registered motor vehicles with effect from 2nd August 2021. The UK will now participate in the Green Card Free Circulation Area (GCFCA), which consists of all 30 European Economic Area (EEA) countries, as well as Andorra, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia and Switzerland.

Further information on Green Cards and requirements can be found on the www.gov.uk website.

If you’re driving outside of the EEA
You may need to carry a green card to prove you have the minimum insurance cover required by the country you’re driving in, if this is the case please re submit your request, making it clear you are travelling outside the EEA areas.”

Thought I would share it, as I must have missed the change, which I welcome

Yes. Just got the same answer from my insurers - having missed the news also!
