I've got a copy of my green card. It states the you can't drive in countries crossed out in the boxes. What about the countries not in boxes. Can I drive in them. Thanks

The ones in the boxes you need the green card. The ones not in the boxes, you don't need the green card, they are automatically covered under the policy.

We are with Liberty Seguros and asked our broker the same question and she said you get the same cover as you would here in Spain. 😎 Bob.

Insurance for other countries.
Interesting. I just phone my insurer to tell them I m going abroad for X amount of time and they just email me to say they acknowledge this and am insured accordingly. Never mention of any "Green Card".

I think for some years now, all comprehensive insurance has automatic cover in many EU countries.

For sometime now, mine has just included a translation in a number of languages? 🤔

A 'Green card' is only evidence that you have Third Party/Public Liability insurance, which is the minimum required by law in most countries. Police etc. are not interested in what damage you do to your own vehicle, only that others are covered.

Comprehensive cover depends on one's policy.
