Currently sat in iveco northern getting a small replacement part fitted, received a phone call from the warden at coniston camc "the road is closed till 5pm, I would advise either come after 5pm when the road is open or come in via Ambleside"
I'm very happy he rang and advised, great customer service.
P.S. I have done the Ambleside route into coniston and its a bit tight but doable.

They were nice people there last time we visited, it's pretty interesting getting in either way I think ;) nice spot though and well done wardens(y) the advantage of a big van though is that people see you in the bottom of dips or around corners and have already pulled over for you by the time you get there :giggle:

I prefer the lower road via torver but that's where its closed.
It's no issue going via Ambleside but like I said doable but a bit tight.

A bit hairy in an A class motorhome towing an 18 foot racing dinghy..... those dry stone walls were awfully close
