Hoping to get some info about southern Spain in July. Son is playing in a hockey tournament in July and was planning aires for myself and wife. Daughter is now coming along and while the van is a 4 berth I thought with the heat that perhaps campsites might be perferable - espically as that would allow a tent for her to sleep in. Most of the time will be around Granada and searchforsites is not masively complimentary towards pretty much any of the sites in the area. Would be interested to hear from people that are familiar with the area.

Thanks :-)

Las lomas in Guejar Sierra isn't too bad - great views, great mtb and walking and a town within walking distance. Pool, good restaurant with superb steaks. In July it shouldn't be too hot - this week it's in low 30s but we're having a warm spell at the moment for a few days. We also use Camping Orgiva for the odd few days, but nb Orgiva is swarming with unwashed "hippies" and is a bit scruffy round the edges.

Thanks - I think I may be an unwashed hippy by the time I arrive there!! Does one typically book in advance at that time of year or just turn up?

If you want the security of a confirmed spot then book; if not take a chance. We usually book los lomas as it's not a huge site and if possible ask for one of the pitches at the top with a view over to Sierra Nevada. Orgiva has just expanded with a field with no electric so we normally chance this. School holidays, fiesta days and weekends will always be busy.

Perfect. Think I will book Los lomas. Only a 20 drive to most of the games and pitchs big enough for small tent.

Thank you
