Gothic Weekend Rally - Whitby

I was thinking about arranging a rally for the Goth weekend which this year is 4th - 6th November.
We stayed at this site which is just 1 mile out of Whitby and is a nice walk into town, or a bike ride or maybe a taxi ride, the site is Broadings Farm, Guisborough Road, Whitby, North Yorkshire YO21 1TL. Tel 01947 601542

I have spoke to David tonight and he has a rally field which could accomodate quite a few motorhomes, @ £7 per night. Generators I am sure will be allowed.(will check)
The Rally field has clean water, waste water and elsan point, no other facilities are available to the rally field

He also has a tent field and a hard standing field with electric but he cannot let us have the electric hardstanding for a rally.
He has got some other people interested in a rally so could be quite a lot of people on site

If you have never been to Whitby for goth weekend you don't know what your missing, it's a great atmosphere with people dressed up in their costumes in the day and by night, the Abbey has entertainment on in the evening as well, and aso have the best fish & chips around.

We would love to go to this. Its a great weekend and a nightmare to get in anywhere unless you book many months in advance. Please put us down , it will be great to do it in the motorhome. 2 adults 3 kids and 2 Border Terrorists. Will we be able to bring some fireworks with it being over the bonfire weekend ?

Only thing that bothers me is you saying that generators will be allowed. Last time we went on a rally (where there were no time restrictions on using them) someone had one on for hours on end , most of the day and all evening . Made a right racket. It wasn't a honda ( nice quiet purring beast ) or even a kippor . It spewed out smoke and fumes that we could smell in our motorhome and they put it nearer to ours than theirs :shout:
Fortunately we were out all day and only had to put up with it for a few hours , we were able to move the next morning to the otherside of the field , away from it .

Hi dshague, not sure about car boot in next field, will check with david.

Ralph-n-Bev, hopefully Funsters will be only use generators at reasonable times and consider other funsters especially with children. Will check with site if fireworks allowed over the weekend.

No, no need to ring and book, I have spoke to david and he said we could have a rally, just need to give him an idea on numbers, will you be coming friday night to sunday?

If anyone else interested as a definate or possible let me know so I can give david a rough idea on how many, as another rally were asking to camp.

But you seem such nice friendly normal people. I can't imagine you descending from your MH all black, body piercings and frightening us poor old MHers to death.

have checked with david site owner and he does not want fireworks on this rally as he has horses, sheep and some people who are camping over the weekend have dogs, sorry, maybe there will be a firework dispaly in Whitby.

The field next to the site is used for a car boot in the summer months and is owned by david.

generators are allowed but to be switched off by 10.30pm

There is a couple of buses that go past the site into Whitby, I will get timetables and bring them along.

Ralliers will not be able to the use of toilet block and showers, david has said everyone on the site and ralliers the toilet block would not cope, so, rally field has clean water, waste water drain and elsan point available

Yes we appear to have mastered the access problems. However, we seem to have to sign in upteen times to actually put pen to paper (or is it cursor to screen). Was hoping to be able to change the password we'd been given but me thinks it would be easier to solve a Laplace Transform (ask Paul). Speak soon TTFN.

we will definately be adourning our mosh boots and capes. However we are more likely to wild it in a nice spot we know of. Only because we will be coming for just the Saturday night.
We will of course have a fly up and say hello.

Anyone thinking but not going? you must. it is a real experience and well worth it. No bands are confirmed as yet but the whole aura of the place that weekend is something to behold.
