Adria 680ST Gold
Ok finally got my Adria back from repair and i must say Motor Bodies Weston have done an excellent job it looks fantastic ..yes the repairs took 8 weeks instead of 2 but that was not their fault. There are parts not changed which were agreed on repair by assesors the external covers for Dometic fridge and Truma boiler vent , seems LV forgot to put them on the repairs sheet , I am chasing them up as they were all damaged in accident , LV say 2nd asessor did not agree to replace these broken items ????? , and are currently held on with tie wraps .

However LV have also messed me about from accident to now is 8 months ,, They have overcharged me for Excess, by £350 , they have put the accident down as my fault when vehicle was hit by uninsured 3rd party vehicle that police say was stolen and 2nd vehicle involved is claiming I deliberately rammed him despite police and highways telling LV and other parties insurer he hit me first and is at fault ....So i have referred them to the ombudsman , I feel LV have shafted me royally , they have continually told me van was ready over last 5 weeks when clearly it is not . they have lied to me they are not working in my interest with the claims and they have changed teir story 3 times ?????

the only other points are that Motorbodies did me a free habitation check when repairing , and pointed out a damp area under nearside lounge table window , they put silicone all around window but reckon it should be taken out and the wood and foam below abouts 80cm x780cm replaced as its reading 78% on the meter .??????? this was not mentioned on Hab check when I bought the van in August last year??????????

also the new decals on repaired right hand side of van are now shiny and gold as it is the 680st Goldline edition but the decals on left hand side are now faded aftr 13 years and look silver so may have to have them upgraded in future especially if i sell the van but maybe I can get them done when damp spot repaired ?? any reccommendations for such repairs reliable companies ??

Any way looks like I will make the ferry from newhaven on the 5th to EU , phew ,,,,

Im not a happy bunny with LV i dread what will happen when insurance up for renewal in August ,,

Might the damp have been as a result of the accident?

Mine are the same but I'm not concerned as no-one sees both sides at the same time.

Though I presume you'll post images of both sides when advetising for sell online?
Though given age fading is highly probable, presuming 10+ years old from quick google of model,

sorry to hear about the problems you've had with your insurer jerryz , i guess this is where you find out how good, or not, that they are when you need to claim..

think i may be changing my insurer (lv) after hearing this tale when it comes up for renewal..

Sorry to hear your tale of woe with LV jerryz
Just to be clear, despite the police in attendance saying that the 1st vehicle was a stolen uninsured, and the police verifying that the 2nd vehicle hit you, then claiming that you hit/rammed them, its still your fault?
I have found over the years that insurance companies are all too eager to go for a knock for knock, even if the other driver is at fault, admits it their fault and apologises for the collision at the scene......they then, as there are no witnesses, change their story after the event and blame you!:swear::swear:
I do not have a dash cam at the moment, but I am seriously giving that some thought.
My question is would dash cam footage helped you with the LV claim? Although it should not be required given the police statement in this case.
Good luck with the ombudsman, get your name cleared for blame etc, however the premiums will increase at renewal, its sods law, and there is nout we can do about it, it would seem.

Yes, probably, but I bought it for cash 13 years ago to be well used and not as an investment. It owes me nothing so I'm not fussed about getting 'top price' whenever I do decide to sell it, but I guess that's a different attitude from those whose Pride and Joy represents serious money.

78% damp is almost liquid!

Wood at 30%+ is difficult to burn, and liable to be rotting and have mould.
I'm not sure at what level would will not really burn unless it has some sort of accelerant (such as dry wood), but I have thought anything above 50% would be almost impossible. So 78% damp is very very high!

You need to get the damp issue resolved ASAP, whatever the cause!

Hits were from behind and rear offside so a dash can would not have helped me ,,, Highways cameras have proved the other vehicle hit me when he wandered into his lane and bounced my van off course ,, then my van hit his as I nearly jackknifed from his momentum ..The police use same technique to stop vehicles .
