Son in law is going to the revival and would like some suggestions for the best campsites, can anyone help please.

Olley,
we went some years ago & used their camping with the RV - can't remember if we had EHU. Their camping area had Showers & loo's & they had a tractor trailer to go back & forth from campsite to the Goodwood entrance.
it was pretty stacked but only to be expected for such an event.
I think we paid £200 for the site for the weekend from Thurs to Monday.
Catch up soon

Arthur.

There are usually 2 pop up style campsites at the event, E being closer than H (there may be more than 2, these are the 2 I’ve stayed on for events).

They can be very muddy, at the Members Meeting 2023 people were being towed ON never mind off.

Some areas have hook up, others don’t. Although the pitches are marked out (sort of) if the SIL is expected an ordered site with the 6’ spacing etc being adhered to, he will be disappointed. Think more festival than Caravan Club…

To be honest this year I’ve taken an Airbnb at Waterlooville, it’s worked out basically the same as the cost of camping at the event - the pitch charge is for 4 people, and on that basis it’s reasonable. But very expensive for the solo traveller.

We were on E3 last year which was further away from the entrance than E2, E1 or the RV pitches which are for over 9m and cost a fortune, if you have electric in E you will be reasonable close to the entrance or certainly closer than we were, to be fair we would have been close enough if the mud hadn't been so deep  there are a couple of other camping areas or maybe just H but we didn't have a look but certainly further out.

To be fair to the field even when the mud was 6 inches deep everybody was driving out OK because of the chalk underneath.

I went to the FoS with my lad last year, Air BnB a 30 min drive away.

Booked up at Concierge Camping this year near Chichester, taking the bikes to commute to FoS. Having stayed at Silverstone for the F1 before I didn't want to rent a patch of grass and little else for hundreds of pounds, so opted for a decent site instead.

My issue with Revival, having been a number of times down the years, is that it’s now so overcrowded. Ie they sell so many more tickets than they used to and unless you buy grandstand tickets on top it’s hard to see any of the racing. Even then, they oversell the general (unallocated) seats so if it rains you can’t get in and stand queueing for something you’ve paid a fortune for. FoS is a better event as it bigger and more relaxed. Having said that, I did rather enjoy the Goodwood lager :)

Electric E is the premier, after that H, nice but a short walk .
Non electric E goes way back and up hill
Non E was a mud bath in 2024
Elec. E was muddy 2024
I always go for Elec E, it sells out quickly, it’s price is daft but people pay so they keep it high
Every year I consider giving it a miss.

The Goodwood sites sold out a while ago, you have to book early. I’m booked on H which suits me. Might be a walk but transport is provided, last year it was too muddy for the tractors ! so a heritage bus was laid on. Not the cheapest pitch in the world but there is EHU and if 4 people go it is reasonable.
The mud was a pain last year but there were a couple of 4x4s cruising up and down as long as your towing eye was on ready. I didn’t need a tow, just went for it.
Suits me as I can have a drink there rather than having to drive somewhere. Plenty of entertainment to enjoy in the evening.

Indeed it was, we were there and you could argue it spoiled the event or you could argue it made it what it was, all in we thoroughly enjoyed it but glad we had friends in the RV area who fed us every night so all we had to do was slip and slither through the mud back to our van after a few glasses of wine 😊

Thanks guys, this is being organised by my daughter for her hubbies 50 birthday.
I misunderstood, she was thinking of a 1 day ticket, drive somewhere close, sleep the night and then drive in and park for the day before going home.
Now I was wondering if she got him a one day ticket, could he swop that for a weekend? No chance?

Can only speak of H as that is the only one we have stayed on twice.
16 amp leccy.
Transport 2024 was on double deck buses and running frequently, 2019 it was tractor and trailor.
2024 was wet and a bit muddy. Some less knowledgeable drivers going in and out of site were having issues, others not so.
With full granstand seating and other "perks" it was a lot of money..............but what's a lot of money when one thoughly enjoys oneself for 4 days (arrive Thursday 11am leave Monday midday).
Having said that NO we will not be doing it again.
Others events in Europe i/we want to see.
