Good one?

I remember maps of German roads showing the motorways with dreadful inside lanes of ruts made by lorries.
The worst one, when I was continental trucking in the early 80's, was the motorway from Zeebrugge to Brussels.

Because of all the Trucks coming of the ferries, the nearside lane had two tracks along it about 2 inches deep and during the winter, these would fill up with rain and then freeze and, as the Belgium Municipal workers did start work until 08.00, trucks coming off the 'Freighter' ferry about an hour earlier, was met with a motorway resembling a Skating Rink.

Scary when your in a convey of about 20 artics! All afraid to accelerate or brake too sharply, some horrendous accidents occurred! 😱 😢

Why didn't we wait? When one is self employed, time is money and one is on the tachograph!
