Please excuse my ignorance but I am intrigued by the little white golf ball size things on a 6" standup mast which I have seen roof mounted recently?
Are these for 4g or digi TV? or just decoration??

Probably a roof vent SOG.

The black thing behind it is a 4G aerial.

Amost Lenny!
The ones I have seen are dimpled? like golf balls and the ones I have noticed are towards the front of the van often just behind the passenger seat (fart vent perhaps??)
Follwing the success of my DAB aerial project on the roof I am just intrigued

Never seen anything like that.

Could be one of these tv aerials

Just fitted one, never stuck it on the roof though just behind a cupboard at the front.
Very good picture on the TV

Very interested in your success with this aerial. We have a Status 530 and it is becoming a pain to lift up and turn as it is in a corner of the cupboard. And it needs turning and checking to get a good signal.
We don't have satelite but could really do with a TV aerial that automatically finds the best signal

Does anyone have any comments on this versus the Status 530 and is there a way to compare qualities rather using both in the field

Thank you fellas, I didnt think I was seeing things.
Incidentally we still use the original directional status aerial with the long mast in the wardrobe and its assosciated amplifier
Just looked at the spec 23 db gain is a lot especially if its not directional and therefore you dont get the chance to null out unwanted channels

I think you get several channels now on one frequency thats one of the advantages of digital. Can't see how picking up extra signals will cause any problems.

pretty certain I have seen similar in an adult toy catalogue

Well yes, you do get many programs on one channel but there are times when you might wish to choose a particular region and the directional property could help to sort them out.
However each to his own , i will stick with the amplified yagi.
