Well after two or more years of fettling my always wanted Goldie I finally got to have a ride on it well my anatomy was never made to ride this bike (nothing to do with age) so it will be coming up for sale.

Rich your older than me, or at least you look older ? this one would finish you off, then I would be in trouble with the boss for encouraging you ?

Two tooo many stokes for me. But still lovely.

As much as I’d like it, far too much cleaning and polishing ?

It will have been well nailed together knowing what Steve’s like as well.

Yes difficult to beat a nice smoker on full chat ?

Lovely looking bike and a damned good job of building it..

What was the reason for the carb change ?

The original gp do not have the ability to tick over, the bike is not a restoration that’s pretty much how it came just needed a few things putting right and a bit of sorting.
The chap I bought it from owned it for 30 years he was 84 ! So there is hope for us yet John.?

But you’ve already thrown the towel in.

About time you bought yourself a Harley arm chair ?

Lovely bike Steve, my brother sold his last year to fund the rebuild of a Vincent Rapide. Swap it for a DBD32, much more user friendly.

Well not really I only wanted to ride one and have now done that, if you want to get that out of your system, you can come and have a ride ?

I think we should get together and put some panniers and tassels on your CCM ?

A beautiful bit of kit, understand fitting a concentric carb, I've struggled for 18 months to get my 1953 Bullet running right with a Pre-monoblock but have now fitted a concentric and it now starts and runs sweet as a nut.

Have just spent a fair amount of time and money on this my latest project

Haven't got any more room for another bike at the moment otherwise I would have been round some cash and a trailer.

I always had an itch for one of these but was more into sidecars in my younger days and in the mid 70s they were still a good few quid to buy, but even if I don’t ride it any more I have had one and it looks a picture I have been very lucky to own one very iconic piece of motorcycle history?

Always wanted a DBD34. Probably out of my price range now. SWMBO would probably have a fit even if I could fit it in with the other three bikes.

I never told mine it had been there two weeks before she noticed it, I did try to tell her I built it from bits I had layed around but she did not believe me.?

Cant run to a DBD but been playing with a SR500 cafe racer managed to get some bits done including the exhaust & silencer fabricated over the break, the exhaust I've cut & shut from a XB12 Buell

Well after riding the Goldie I realised it is not for me I should have tried one a few years ago when I was more agile ?
But I have had one now and ridden it a few miles job done ! As you say and have finally got around to putting it on eBay with a bit of luck will get my money back £15,000
