I guys, newbie here.
I`ve just broken out the van from its winter hibernation, on filling water tank I found I`m not getting any water from the taps, checked fuse and sure enough blown, replaced. Pump now makes a noise but still no water, not sure if its partially siezed or I have an air lock, have banged the pump to no effect.
Thinking I`ll get a new pump (I notice some of you carry a spare) but how do I change it? it seems to be attached to the base of the tank.
Thanks muchly in advance for any advance

What make of pump is it, ie, Whale, Reich, Sureflo.

Previous owned Reich pumps have seen the impeller siezed (causing the fuse to blow), when not used for a while. On those occasions, I removed the filter at the base, and used a thin metal screwdriver to rotate the impeller manually.
If unlucky, the thin plastic shaft connecting the impeller to the motor, may have broken. I always carried a spare.

A photo would be good for others to advise accordingly. BTW, not using the MH during winter, is one of the worst things you can do to it sadly. :(

Good luck sorting it out. Have you bled it through properly, opening all the cold taps first?

Jock. :)

Hi, if the submersible pump is running, it may well be air locked. First check that you have shut off the boiler dump valve (blue button stays in).
Also check that you actually have fresh water in the tank. (It may have drained out again if the dump valve was open).
When you have checked this, try to run different taps on cold only. You should get air and then spitting water. Eventually (three to four minutes) you should get water coming through at that tap. Alternate the taps, shower and loo flush as if one has an air lock it can prevent others.
When you have cold water, turn the taps to hot and repeat the process.

(If this doesn't work you may have a problem with a split pipe if drain down wasn't performed thoroughly.)

Thanks guys
Water running now, think knocking pump on side of tank may have sorted it.
Going to buy a spare though.
