Just going through the Globecar & Poessl leaflets that we picked up at the dealers in Germany & spotted that now there is not only the Summit 600 Plus & the Globescout Plus from €40399 (includes €5295 of extras) but also the Globescout R Plus €41399 (€5295 of extras) (y) Understand that stocks of these are more widely available on the continent currently than the Summit model.

Globescout R Plus with words in German here Broken Link Removed

Also spotted this one - the Globescout Limited Broken Link Removed with German pricing & options here

Might help someone considering make & model options & maybe worth checking if these Special Edition models are available from UK dealers too http://globecar.co.uk/

Another brand from Poessl that is worth a look as a budget option is Clever https://www.clever-mobile.de/ & they also do have a Special Edition model Celebration
from €37990.

There's also their top of the range Lions model (has a lithium battery, leather upholstery etc) but a bit of a marmite interior from €49990.

Would obviously have to factor in all the costs of importing this brand.

So far all these Special Editions are only available in LHD which may be a compromise for some or a preferred option for others.

And you get a Citron badge
If you want a Fiat badge its extra
Anyone want to start a thread on that can of worms:(
Some nice options though

If I'm reading it correctly then the price of the van with the extras included makes it a fantastic bargain.

Hi Karen, is there any news yet on the Fiat-based 4x4 Globecar coming to the UK?

It looks like the extras are citroen based.

UK version is definitely Peugeot Boxer according to the Facebook & SMC (UK importer & main dealer) website info. but lots of similarities between that, Citroen Relay & Fiat Ducato.

Bliss.........
We don't have the soft close on our Globecar as they can have problems - perhaps you won't want to be pitched near us again at Highlands End?!

OK, now I'm interested. Is that a
Soft Close Habitation Door
for the side sliding door? Is it a Fiat or Globecar product do you know?

Just answered my own question:

Don't think it's quite the same as understand that you gently close the door then it finishes shutting electronically rather than slamming it but may be wrong. Do know that quite a few who had this factory fitted have taken it off as it kept failing as have read a lot of discussion about this on Facebook motorhome groups. Think it's a Peugeot, Citroen & Fiat option.

Mick,

I think your link refers to a full auto door whereas the soft close version is what Karen mentioned above, i.e. you push the door gently and then the mechanism pulls the door in by itself and locks.

That said, once you open the door then you need to give it 3 seconds before you close it again or else the system doesn't reset itself properly and it won't pull itself in.

I have the soft close system but a dealer will charge you £700 for the privilege.

Like any electrical gizmo it's a nice-to-have right up to the point it goes wrong.

We have had the soft close sliding door on both our Globecars, the X250 2015 model one was a pain in the bum at times but it was solvable, on the X290 models they have redesigned it so we've not had a single problem with it since we got the camper in April 2018 and we open the door a lot with 3 dogs, especially with one having 'water work' issues!
