I Have a 2016 Autosleeper Burford Duo has anybody had the Glide-rite rear air assist fitted and if so did it make much difference to the ride and did it raise the rear overhang up at all.Thanks.

I have Glide-rite fitted to the rear of my Autotrail Delaware and feel that the motorhome goes around roundabouts better - more stable, but have not noticed a great difference when generally cornering or driving. The Delaware has a two metre overhang at the rear and this is the reason I had the air suspension fitted. It makes a significant difference to the back end when fully inflated. The long overhand magnifies the small rise at the back axle point. Coming out of Honfleur we unexpectedly arrived at Le Bac ferry whilst avoiding the Autoroute (Pont de Normandy). It was about to leave as we approached and I was asked to hurry up. As I drove slowly up the ramp I pressed the air bag pump buttons but the rear (tow bar) scraped along the ramp at about 70% up. By the time we arrived at the other side they were fully inflated and the rear was high enough to clear the ramp.

Thank you for that as it is quite expensive I just wanted to be sure that it lifted the rear as like you I have a long overhang.and the ride.Clive

I used to have a PVC that was on a light 3.3t chassis. It ran very low at the rear. I put Easy-top semi-air suspension in and it brought the ride height up to something much more reasonable. It also made the handling quite a bit better as it didn't roll quite as much.

Massive improvement on mine, especially when passing lorries, and it can raise the back by 6” if required.
