Good afternoon. Has anybody visited Gibraltar from Spain in the last few days since Omicron either on foot or bike or in their van for a day trip. If so what's your experience of the the covid rules and and administration, and the post brexit non-EU checks for UK passport holders? Whilst it appears that health control and passenger locator form they not required except for air and sea arrivals has anybody needed anything to get into Gibraltar or get back into Spain? TIA.
Looking at the border video cameras live it seems things are usually not too busy. https://www.frontierqueue.gi/

Watching with interest.

Bit too far for a day trip from Blighty! !! :xdoh:

Well I'll answer my own question then as I went in and out of Gibraltar today by foot. No covid stuff required at the moment just passport ID and you must get your passport stamped as you go in and stamped again as you come out. There is a rumour that you are only allowed one day trip into Gibraltar in any 30 days however I have not substantiated whether this is true. Obviously any of the above can change under the current circumstances so do your own homework first.

Thanks, will be going in, as such,on the 21st or 22nd...

There was a post by someone that they were reprimanded by the Spanish customs for going into/ out of Gib twice in a month.

To second richard burkinshaw, we went in on Mon. 13th.
We presented our passports which were scanned for the biometrics. We then had the passport stamped adjacent to the entry stamp at Santander, (the officer looked for that stamp.)
At the end of the day, the process was reversed. Again the passport was stamped adjacent to the two others.
Point of info. One is only allowed 1 Lt. of spirit on leaving Gib. for Spain.
PS. We were not asked for evidence of being jabbed. Presumably because they knew we had jumped through that hoop to get in at Santander.

So has Lidl and Mercadona in Spain.
Bought some 1st Div. for a mate who is under the cosh in Blighty.

When we were last in Gibraltar Eroski we saw some people loading there trolleys up with this gin it was only 5.50 euros. So we thought it was worth a try. We only bought one bottle. Turned out to be very nice so we've promised ourselves we would go back and fill our trolley too. But life got in the way.

As an update - I have stayed on the aire at La Linea for the last three nights and gone into and out of Gibraltar for four consecutive days, three on foot and one on my bike, with no problem. Passport stamped in and out, very easy.

I know it's an old thread, but can anyone clarify where the aire is exactly?

Its at the marina on the right as you go towards the Gibraltar checkpoint. Camper contact or search for sites will have more info

My experience is if you speak spanish you are ok. If only English, you will get hastled. We visited several times and each time had all bags emptied. Going in to Gib, we were told stamp not needed. On way out we were told that we were now illegals. Took ages to sort out. Next time we insisted on a stamp. We only bought 1 litre each but the spaniards had loads and were not stopped.
I dont think they like us at Gib!
