We had a Ghost immobiliser fitted a week or so ago. Today is the first time Mrs. Odd has driven it since the Ghost was fitted, I had to go over the sequence with her before she could start it. I wonder if she will have to come home on the bus 😄😄

Home safe now but she did have some trouble. The difficulty is, as described by the installer, some of the buttons take a few seconds to become live, so use them too soon and they don't work. Add to that if the engine is not started within a certain time the original immobiliser kicks in. So the timing has to be correct. I doubt it will get stolen now as we can't always start it first time ourselves 😄😄

my son had this fitted to his car. Its a right faff and as you say can appear to fail in rocognising the sequence at times. But he is happy that it is highly unlikely to be stolen now (his previous car had been stolen, with extreme ease.

My daughter got one after her range rover was stolen, on her car there's no delay so as long as the buttons are pushed on the correct order, it's all good. I had one put on the new car as this car is more often stolen than our last one. We just need to get the timing right

Now I've got used to the delay, it's great. No problem with it, I've used the valet mode when the car went for a service, all good. My daughter has had one on her last two cars with no problems.

I have the Can-Phantom on my van, same principal as the Ghost. I dont have any sort of delay on the buttons, soon as I put the ignition key in I can hit the button and works first time every time.

Same here

Had mine work faultlessly for 4 years now, it quickly becomes second nature and automatic to input the code.

You can put a blob of Tippex beside the button/switch that starts the sequence to help remind you.

Also you might want to let a friend/ relative know the sequence in case of worst case scenarios.

The installer informed me that the most common problem of unable to unlock occur with makes of vehicle where the steering wheel logo reads the same upside down as right way up - Audi with it’s Circles logo for one. The sequence is less obvious then and easy to muck up.

was thinking, photo the cab/dash and then assign numbers and letters to the buttons, go OTT 10 nbrs&10 letters, leave that in the overhead and then all you need to remember is a code word/nbr until it becomes 2nd nature

The delay is only on my car, it's because the buttons I chose don't become "live" for a couple of seconds after the ignition is switched on. I'm sure I could change the buttons and forget the delay, but I've got used to it now. I switch the ignition on before putting my seatbelt on, then it's good to go.
