Any magic tips or best products for getting your motorhome tyres back to black?

That is without them looking like you've just driven off a dealers forecourt with that horrible shiny stuff they use. :giggle:

Someone mentioned shoe polish but not sure about that.....

This is ok for a while Pete but doesn’t last like everything else, although usually just wash them with the brush after washing the van.

Auto finesse satin ( matte ) , one application leaves a slight shine , if you are not happy each further application brings more shine , stop when happy with the finish

Good grief, life is too short to worry about tyres looking black on a van surely?
I only wash mine when you can't see out the windows

If you use any type of dressing on your tyres make sure its a water based product.
Solvent based products long term will cause problems and boot polish is for leather not rubber.
Back to Black or any Silicone product is a big no no if you need your vehicle painted.

Soapy water & a nail brush will get rid of a lot of grime. It's the brake dust that degrades the 'black look'. If I have the time, I use tyre paint applied sparingly once a year in the hope that it acts as a UV blocker for when the covers aren't on them.

Why??
Why??
I’ll tell you why….. it’s all aboot the detailing!!
All black… should be black.. I even clean inside my wheel arches👍🚐🧽🤣
I even clean my engine , and once or twice a year the whole underside ……

Tyres should be black , deep black , but not shiny 😂

Clean with a good all purpose clearer like Bilt Hambler Surfex, , and if wanted a tyre dressing.

Thanks all, anyone tried black shoe polish?late 70s and early 80s whenever I was getting rid off a car. Cleaned them, but found Squeazy washing up liquid rub on tyres which I wiped off after spraying metal wheels silver again. The washing up liquid allowed and overspray to be wiped away and gave clean none shiny tyres.

Shoe polish worth trying but like them all doesn’t last.

I use both the instant tyre dressing and the Gel, I also use the tyre dressing on my Mountain bike tyres they look good whe. I start. Seriously though all tyre dressing fails after a trip or two you just have to apply it when you wash the vehicle. https://www.autoglym.com/hptg500-high-performance-tyre-gel.html
