Decided yesterday to book a ferry to Rotterdam and have booked a site on the outskirts of Amsterdam . It’s the first time out of the UK so what will we need that we may not be aware of ? I’ve ordered a European hook up converter , we’ve two full bottles of gas , passports got 4 months left on it . Do you need a warning board on the bikes in
Holland ?

Luckily iv never had to use the EHIC card, but the GHIC was fine when i needed it without question 👍
Good to hear that.
I believe that it depends on the treatment that you need. For some things a contribution is required with GHIC which does not apply with EHIC.

Very true, that's why I got an invoice in the post I suppose. But was only €17 👍

Don’t drink alcohol if driving as it is normal for all drivers to be breathalysed as they go through passport control on arrival into the Netherlands.
For those heading as far as Estonia (I know that's not many of you) Here the police stop the whole road and everyone blows into the breathalyzer. I have had three stops this year and we have zero tolerance, a cough sweet is a problem. I don't even risk my home brew kombucha and drive

We came out of Nijmegen early one evening and they stopped and breathalysed every driver, there must have been 20 Police cars parked on Central Reservation and goodbye have many Police were testing .
Enjoy your holiday and have a safe trip

Same here but at Ijmuiden, no breathalyser test just passports check but this was pre brexit , maybe a lot has changed since then . Loved the Netherlands, visited Amsterdam, Dokkum,Arnhem, Oosterwijk, Delft, Noordwijk and back to Amsterdam, a great and easy country to visit and motorhome in.

Traveled over in the last months and no brutalizer tests on the morning sailing from Harwich to Hook of Holland at either end and no police waiting down the road either. Hope that helps.
