getting food deliveries

In case anyone hasn't spotted it already on here - Morrisons are doing £35 food boxes delivered by DPD Broken Link Removed but currently over an hour queuing online to checkout in our area.

I have been trying to sign both of our mother's up to internet shopping but cannot get them a slot with any supermarket. Mother in law is staying home and getting a veg box once a week but she will need other stuff soon. My mother still wants to go shopping twice and week and thinks her world will fall apart if she cannot do that.

They are not consistent then, have spent ages on the phone trying to get through to them and finally this morning managed a five minute conversation with a recorded voice asking for my DoB and my nectar card number and then informed that it would take up to two working days to check and then they MIGHT be able to offer me a delivery slot.
Very fed up with them, Mike the MD writes to me using my first name and his company provide a recorded question and answer system for a regular customer and ask for two days to check whether I am indeed elderly and at risk, not impressed to be honest. local Co-oP and farm shop getting most of my business currently.
Suddenly yesterday, Saturday, got a very brief phone call recorded message again saying if I signed in I would get a delivery slot and I did. miracles do happen!
The problem was if I had been slow on the uptake or not heard the first few words she said, would not have realised it was Sainsburys with a slot for me and there was no opportunity for me to hear it again or question the caller, so I bet many others have not heard it properly.
Any way order placed and hopefully delivered Wednesday.

My daughter ordered and had delivered the morrisons box, not sure its value for money, but needs must.

Just found out that Asda will do a home delivery from their store 75 miles away. Now just have to get a slot!
Asda release the available slots on a one day basis at 10pm, quite a few are taken already but the rest go within 10 seconds. I tried and just by thinking which time was best by the time I pressed the button I was too late.

Been waiting 2 weeks to get delivery slot with Asda and Tesco. Last night suspected 'clock' changed date at 12pm midnight. Sure enough screen went into queing mode and then 'choose a slot ' mode. By the time we had typed in a simple order, it was 00.45 and too hyped up to sleep!
