Tina and I have travelled only in certain parts of Spain. From Blane's down along the coast to Cadiz which is my favourite. I have now ventured inland to Cordoba and it is stunning. All the things I like from Roman architecture to later catholic times and the Muslim era in between. Not to mention the wine and beer We are going to move on to Granada next and then head back to the beaches of the med. We are going to travel the N432 from Codaba to Cadiz. Any recommendations I should stop at suitable for a 7.5 mtr motorhome.

Why are you going to Granada via Cadiz? It’s almost the opposite direction!

Google maps suggests going via Antequerra: it’s an interesting place and only a few miles away is El Torcal, an area of fantastic rock formations.

Fuente de Piedra has a large lake which attracts thousands of flamingos.

Setenil de las Bodegas and Ronda are not far away.

If you’re adventurous, try Caminito Del Rey near Ardales: it’s much safer than in the past!

There are plenty of less-traveled places which will allow you to explore the real Spain.

Enjoy - Gordon

Grenada or, specifically the Alhambra is my favourite place to visit. The buildings are amazing. Give yourself plenty of time and be prepared for a second or third visit.

I meant to say from Cordoba to Granada. We visited Antequera on the way to Cordoba and that is a great place especially the views from the top. We have been to Ronda in the past. I know Google maps and my sat nav suggests tracking bact to Antequera but the N432 looks a more interesting route. It's called the route of the Caliphate and is the cultural route. Just need to make sure the route is suitable for a motorhome.

I’ve not done that route but the more minor road via Priego de Corboda is more than fine.

I love Jerez - not just the sherry but the local classical riding school which does displays every week. A mere spit from Cadiz.

Seville and Cordoba are well worth visiting.

We used to do Camino del rey when it wasn’t safe, not done it since it has been safe.Use to go swimming in the lakes/reservoirs. Had a house in Calahonda once upon a time, loved that area. Bought the Motorhome when we sold it.

We've just parked up on the camperstop in the big out of town place Catherine.

Glad to see Jerez is worth a visit, we just needed somewhere to recover after yesterday in Cadiz (which is lovely).

From Jerez it's just a 35km drive east to the beautiful hillside town of Arcos de la Frontera. I read a book (can't remember the title) which starts with a couple getting their MH wedged in the streets of Arcos! It was probably like that couple earlier in the week: not paying attention, because most of the roads are quite adequate.

Going west is Sanlucar de Barramada, which we found disappointing, although it is renowned for sherry.

Going north and then west from Seville, you can get to the "cowboy" town of El Rocio, with its streets of sand and horse-hitching posts outside every building. The pilgrimage starts on 28/05/23 and is usually broadcast live on Spanish tv: quite a sight.
El Rocio is also a great place to take a safari trip into Donana National Park, hoping to see lynx.

Sorry we didn’t catch you to say bye the other morning and say thanks for the list off Tina, we’re here another week now due to a certain person falling of her bike and cracking a bone in her arm, return hospital appointment next Wednesday to see if it’s healing, told you she was a danger on two wheels, and that’s without any alcohol 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♂️

Chippiona is very pleasant. very big aire, sea view, plenty of space.

We ve been looking at Almdovar del rio for a stop as its castle has featured on game of thrones. Carmona also pretty special.

Playas Las Dunas is quite a good site, excellent facilities, supermarkets nearby, take’s ACSI. Its about a 20 minute walk to the ferry which crosses the river right into to heart of Cadiz, it’s cheap too
Old town of Santa Maria is nice as well, again 20 minutes walk

We've just had (still away) a few weeks wandering around part of the Almeria and Castile le Mancha regions. We've had a great time and it's been so quiet. If we've been with one other motorhome on a parking, that was a rarity.

There are hidden gems all over in Spain.

Stepped up to the mark as they say, even tying bleeding shoelaces 🤔 small fracture that they want to x Ray again next week, thought it would be a day sat in the hospital, in and out within an hr and a half, well impressed. The swelling has started to go so must be on the mend, might be a cheap leccy bike going soon with a few scratches, think I might buy a trike for her instead 😂

I fell of my bike last May, broke my wrist in two places. One bone was pinned, the other was left to repair itself. I was out of strapping within two weeks and completely discharged by six weeks. There was no way I was lingering in Murcia past the middle of July, whatever. Pain? No, no pain!

Discharged. Thank you very much. The motorhome was outside waiting to whisk me to Galicia for the summer 😊😊

Yeah moving on as soon as she’s been seen on Wednesday morning, it’s a good job we really like it here at el Puerto de Santa Maria, great beach for the dogs to run on, lots of bars open with great tapas and great bodegas, on to el Rocio next 👍

Good luck for the repair of the arm. Enjoy el Rocio.
