The above alarm was fitted to our van when we bought it. It has been fine until mow when for some reason, the alarm doesn’t go off i.e. alarm sound. Normally, once the alarm is set the doors are all locked are there are two beeps and two flashes of the indicators to indicate that the alarm is set.
Similarly, when in the van, you set alarm by pressing the top button once and then the lower button thereafter to deactivate the sensors so you can move inside the van. If someone opens a door, the alarm should sound. Also if in the morning you deactivate the alarm, you have to also open one of the front doors within 30 seconds otherwise the alarm resets and the alarm goes off.

Now, pressing the remote locks all the doors, the lights flash and there are two beeps. When you deactivate the alarm with the remote, the doors all unlock, there are three flashes of indicators and three beeps. But I just can’t get the alarm to go off.

Any suggestions please?

Is there a bonnet switch? There should be with a cat 1 alarm.
Open bonnet but press the switch, alarm the alarm, wait the required arming time then release the bonnet switch.
Alarm should sound, does the alarm give you coded unlock sounds/light flashes to show there has been a trigger event?

I’ll try this next time I’m at the van. It’skept in storage a few miles away. Thank you.

1967bowesj -today I went to the van. I did as you suggested and the alarm went off after letting go the bonnet switch after the 30 second delay. But I couldn’t get the alarm to go off otherwise. So flummoxed!

When I had a problem with my Gemini alarm I contacted Peter Hughes at Aftermarket Vehicle Solutions (AVS), the Gemini people. He was extremely helpful in identifying the problem and, in my case, guiding me through the procedure to rectify.

You now know it is a trigger issue with the interior sensors and or door triggers.
If you capable you can trace the wiring

Do you have sensors on any other external doors? Lockers, garage, etc? If so, set the alarm and, after 30 seconds, open any of those doors to see if the alarm goes off. If it does, try any other doors with alarm sensors. You have already proved that the under-bonnet sensor works and that the siren does work. You can thus narrow down which door sensors sound the alarm and which don't. It may be that it's only the cab and hab (?) doors that are failing to sound it.

Before pulling things apart to trace wiring, bear in mind that some sensors may have been inadvertently deactivated in the Gemini alarm programme. It could be a matter of reprogramming - which is where guidance from AVIGemini will save you a lot of head scratching.
