Apologies, I know it has been posted before and I have read the posts, I just can't see a definitive answer, hence hoping to make this simple (as simple as me šŸ¤£).

Does this brass screw turn the bottles off?

My gaslow has a proper black handle with direction to turn for on off. Never seen one like that before.

Yes screw in for off and out for on.

As all UK threads, with the exception of single central locking wheel nut on say an E-Type wire wheel.
Lefty loosey (Anticlockwise - Open/On) righty tighty (Clockwise - Close/Off).
Same as a basic tap.

LPG bottles have a 10 year re-certification interval, no clue if control tap is part of this and would need upgrading.
Presuming a registered motorhome service facility could advise/arrange on re-certification.

Probably not worth it as if itā€™s almost certainly either already out of date or very close āš ļø
Itā€™s basically scrap very soon .
Thanks for the opinion, but how do you know the date of expiry on the bottles I have fitted?

I know roughly the age of your bottles as that brass thumb wheel was only used between approximately 2012 through to 2016 šŸ‘

Mine have a date stamp around the base. I replaced one last year from Gaslow in Loughborough, I was very pleased with the service.

Was that some sort of (subsidised?) exchange service, or an outright purchase?

Ian
I enquired about recertification of old bottles but told they only give a discount on new bottles and any ancillaries bought at the same time but I found you could buy cheaper elsewhere.

They offer a reconditioned exchange but they are not always available, apparently they are sent for testing in batches and there was a wait of 8 to 10 weeks. Then the recertificated cylinders were about Ā£99, the new ones were Ā£155. I went for new.
