Getting there!
Hi all,
I have to change my two Gaslow 11kg bottles as the test expired 2019 !
Direct from Gaslow to exchange for latest bottles it's £208 less 10% for the old ones.
However, I can buy then online cheaper without exchanging them???
I'm not sure what to do with the old bottles then? Anyone have a use for them?
Or I could just p/X them for the same bottles from Gaslow for £99 each.....

I’m sure someone would buy them off you. 😉

Gaslow do a recertified bottle , i exchanged my 6kg bottles and had all new hoses fitted (£100 for hoses) by them for £300 last year so your price seems good.

Business head aside , personally I would go for new style cylinders with the multi valve.
Much more accurate gauge, better safety features such as an excess flow valve and sintered filter built in .
The original bottles were much more basic.

Thanks, I wanted the ability to leave them on whilst traveling as well which I believe the new bottles have?

What about these

That is only bottles - no hoses.

Just exchange for £99 each. Certified for another 10 years.
As Basildog said the newer bottles have more benefits - particularly being to leave turned on whilst driving or so I believe?
But I have to say the cost is an issue , particularly if I need hoses as well.

Check the date on hose,s as they may need replacing as well.

Post a picture of your hoses and regulator etc 👍

Think newer hoses have a 10 year expectancy.?

You can drive with gas on if you have a Truma crash sensor system 😊 with old style cylinders

I have the paperwork for the Truma crash sensor but they must have taken it off when the Gaslow system was installed ☹️

One of the hoses show a date of 2023, so the probability is the rest are the same.

There are 2 parts to the Truma crash safe system. The crash sensitive regulator and the rupture valve on the pigtail. If you have a new bottle with rupture protection you don’t need the special pigtail but still must have the regulator if you want to leave the gas on. The crash safe regulator protects the low pressure side of the system from regulator to appliances and the rupture protection protects the high pressure side from bottle to regulator. Both are essential and neither protects the whole system without the other.

If I remember right, having to have a crash sensor to run gas on the move is not a requirement for older Van's, it's just down to the users common sense 🤦‍♂️
Such is the vague lpg leisure rules and leisure rules in general.
Didnt the rules for lpg crash sensors come in when all the seat belt/dedicated travelling seat stuff came in......2004 maybe 🤔

I’ve had crash and rupture prevention tails in three vans since 2013 😊
