Are Gaslow bottles & systems EN1949 compliant, and if so, does anyone do an official marking to say that? I've been refused once in Europe and it was bloody inconvenient.

The new bottles are marked as R67 and EN 1949 as below

Maybe you have to get your stencil kit out if you have older bottles ;)

Or fit an external filler they won’t know if you have cylinders then🤔

That is good to know, so I can argue with Monsieur about it!
And I already have an external filling point.

Is some area they only allow filling of gpl for vehicle fuel ,not for heating and cooking.

No Gas bottles are EN 1949 compliant as that’s a standard for the manufacturers of leisure vehicles giving the specifications for the installation.

Thanks for this. I knew that you were the one who would know. Would be able to explain the following statement on the myLPG website? Is it nonsense?

The French regulation authorizes the tank refill only if the tank is EN1949 European Standard compliant. It is forbidden to refill standard cylinders.

In the past, an accident took place in France on a campervan. It resulted in reinforcement of the procedure related to the refilling of EN1949 tank. Some retail owners took it a step further as to reject all refillable LPG bottles due to the complexity for the retail station staff to control and identify if the tank complies with EN 1949 European Standard.

You won't win any arguments that your bottles are compliant with what ever regulation. Best just to move on to the next station that allows filling of refillable bottles and also give them your deisel trade as well.
