Gas solenoid on fridge

Hi I'm looking for advice on a Dometic fridge but it probably applies to all fridges, my understanding is when the fridge is running on gas and gets to the desired temperature the gas solenoid closes and cut off the gas and when the fridge warms up the gas solenoid open up again and ignites the gas again? I'm asking as the fridge was running on gas and got cold but or some reason it stopped working during the night , I think I might have a problem with the ignitor as battery's full and plenty of gas

Sometime the gas valve sticks, a very gentle tap whilst the igniter is speaking may help. Ours has done it twice in 4 years.
