Well we are switching to refillables this year, but I needed to get a Calor 6kg for the final leg before we do that (we're away in Feb before we can get it done), so went on a quick drive around local Calor stockists this morning for our FINAL 6kg refill to cover Jan/Feb motorhoming trips.

Local Esso garage... £47 for a refill; Local independant Calor (motorbike sales place) £42.

Small garage in middle of no-where.. £30. Well worth the 15 min drive.

Be aware theres nearly a £20 spread in Calor prices at moment, you should NOT be paying £47 for a 6kg.

Rip off Britain again.

Gouge the market for all you can get.

Diesel is now sub one pound a litre here in the canaries!

Tony
And the amount of tax on fuel in the canaries?
I take rip off Britain with a pinch of salt often said by people who think everyone else should work for the wages paid in poor countries but they should be well paid.

The govt subsidise fuel to help the economy.
I don’t believe in low wages, neither do I believe in charging a pound a litre for LPG when it was twenty pence not long ago.
The price of fuel in uk flows through to everything in daily life and makes life expensive for anyone who has to rely on a motor vehicle, as we do!

Tony

Tough one to answer as the IGIC, our normal taxes are not applied to fuel and I'm not sure what the tax is, or how much. I might Google it later to find out. But you can bet your bottom dollar that there is tax on it.
I had a quick look tax is lower in Spain about 40 euro cents a litre Vs 52p in the UK. That being said there a big difference in wages in the UK Vs Spain so in terms of the cost of diesel compared to wages it's probably a bit cheaper in Spain but not by much. It is of course different for anyone on a pension based on UK earnings in the past they will feel a lot better off.

You caught that post quick, I changed it shortly after because I found on Google that we actually pay 7% in tax on fuel.

Is far lower than in Spain
7% it seems. Still too much.
for gasoline it is 26,5c & diesel is 22,2cents /litre here in the peninsular

But Barrie Barriesimpson isn't in 'Spain' He is in the Canaries.they have there own tax regimes.
Presumably on top of the duty the same as in the UK fuel duty and vat on top.
+21% IVa on it.
just paid 1,28€ this morning for posh diesel. equates to 1,06 pounds. Mind we are still in the christmas holiday "stripe them up" period when fuel prices increase as more people are on the roads.
It was not long back that diesel was 1,08€ here, about 91p.

I'm off today to fill the underslung tank, 75p per litre, 14 mile round trip but who cares at that price.

Autogas LPG @ Watling Street Grange, Grange Ln, Telford TF2 9PB

What a pity the OP hasn't got his installation done in time for his holidays.
