Hello Everyone,
I have a keyless gas locker lock/mechanism that is playing up, and wondered if anyone knows of where to find spares/replacments (a brief Google search didn't yield any results)?

It's the type that has an opening handle behind drivers seat, via a cable to a mechanism under/at the edge of the locker.
Pulling the lever releases the catch and a thick "bolt" which is fixed to the door, and door can then be opened - closing needs the bolt to be lined up to the catch and pushed back, which (usually) snaps a holding hook around the bolt.

For some reason, pushing the bolt into the mechanism isn't making the securing hook snap back around the bolt.

I don't think it's anything to do with the cable (e.g. being stretched), as with the release handle "down" (freeing up the cable), the hook still doesn't work.
There seems to be no sticking parts, as it's all well greased.

Unfortunately, the MoHo is in for replacing dodgy fuel filter/pipe, so can't provide any photos of the actual part(s) in question at the moment...but it looks similar to this...

Any help/suggestions gratefully received.

Cheers,

Rich.

it could be that the wrong lube was used, attracted grime and something has locked up. Try closing the latch with a vertical screwdriver instead of the door.

Thanks Cush - will have a go at removing any old grease once I get the MoHo back...

Cheers,

Rich.

Hi All,
Seems it was just a case of old grease gumming up the mechanism - almost a full can of brake cleaner and use of toothbrush seems to have freed it up.

Now given it a coating of white grease, so will see how well/long this lasts...

Cheers,

Rich.
