I’m trying to open the outside gas locker door on our 2017 Moho but the key won’t turn either way. I’m definitely using the right key and have tried pushing the door in at the same time but no luck. Any suggestions?

Any chance of a photo?
Sadly not at the min as our Moho is in indoor storage several miles away. We got so cold we had to come home! The key hole is set in a white plastic square which if it’s like the other lockers pops out when it opens. Key just won’t turn in any direction - so frustrating!

If its that cold the lock may be frozen. If theres any power there try a hairdryer. If not a metal key that will go in the slot and heat up the handle end with a lighter or candle etc

Soak in Plusgas and holding the key with pliers trying to put a bit of pressure turning back and forth.
Be very carfull not to bend the key.
Try small turning movements.
Good luck.

Has something dropped down and fallen under the lever.?.. This happened twice on mine ..a watering can got wedged under...the cure was to shake the motorhome or thump the door and turn key at same time ...i have now made an aluminium guard so that the lever is not restricted.my lock is like this..(y)

Thanks for your suggestion. There’s nothing in there other than the gas bottles as far as we know. We have spoken to Rimor who say it’s a common problem and suggest leaning on it forcefully. We will go back to our storage place armed with all the suggestions - lubrication, heat and muscles!

Possibly dirt or grit between the lock casing and the surround? Do you have one of those air duster things? I know our local Poundland stock them.

If it's a common problem, they need to find a solution. Take it to the dealer, it's their problem, not yours.

My input for what it is worth, contact your local dealer:- inform them of your problem and include your understanding this is a common problem, ask them you want this rectified ASAP and any modified protection to prevent this from occurring again in the future.

Please get back to us and let us know the outcome.

Well I guess you are all desperate to know what happened ......

We went down to the storage place armed with a hair dryer, lock lubrication, rubber lubrication, a lighter, lots of muscles, patience & lots of fingers crossed etc. We moved our Moho to get better light on the locker and applied lots of muscle and bingo - it opened. We’ve sprayed it with lubricant in the hope it doesn’t happen again! Thanks for everyone’s advice. You’re a really fantastic bunch!
