On next years jaunt to Morocco we are taking a newly-acquired 2 burner gas stove with us for outdoor cooking duties. As we will be travelling through France, Spain, Portugal and Morocco during this trip, will we have to use country-specific gas connectors and bottles?
We have 2x6kgs Calor bottles on board for the internal oven and fridge but I do not want to run the external gas stove from these just in case they get depleted (they have lasted for over 12 weeks on one of our previous journeys).
TIA.
Garry.

It depends on when you are going and for how long you are going.
2 x 6kgs is not very much.

In northern European summer, when we are only running the fridge and an occasional cooker/oven we go through 1-2kg a week.
We do a fair bit of cooking on the Cadac which is little gas canisters (Probably one per 10 days).

In European spring we can go through a 11kg bottle in just over a week, with a hour or two of heating every day

Ideally you want to convert your system to at least one refillable (as big as fits in the locker, and then keep the 6kg Calor as backup.

At least that way you can arrive in southern Spain full of LPG.

As you may be aware Calor is only available in the UK, and refilling LPG is not available in Morocco (at least not via any recognised outlet)

If you are intending to do a lot of overseas travelling year-on-year, then you want a refillable gas bottle system as Brains states, or get an underslung gas tank fitted.

The latter frees up your gas locker as an extra storage space, which you may find useful.

Refillable is the answer then you can top up in Spain before crossing to Morocco. Just our fridge uses nearly 1 Lt (0.5kg) of gas a day.

I use a small 2.8kg gaslow refillable for the camping stove, but a 6kg one would also work well. If you buy the "direct fill" version, it comes with a uk fill adapter, which has a thread to accept the continental varieties and a regular that had the correct thread for the gaslow outlet. I also have a quick connector in the supply pipe for easy stowage.
Just refill as you go along.....

Refillable is the way to go...you won't regret it...the ease of filling in Spain before crossing to Morocco is favourite.
Good to see you use outdoor cooking as an option...cooking in a van when it's 25°c is not fair on our travelling partners...🇪🇺😭😃
