At the moment I have a Mopeka gas bottle level detector fitted but frankly it’s not the best.
Does anyone have any experience of any other gas bottle level measurement systems or instruments that work well.

thanks in advance

I have mopeka as well and found it to be very accurate. What issues are you having?

For me, accurate when it gave a level at all but more often or not simply did not work at all.
That’s a shame. Had mine three years and only issues is to change the battery. Took a little time to get it properly centred on bottom of cylinder but once that was done I can usually predict to to within a couple of litres how much it will take when refilling.

I’ve just changed the battery on it and I’m struggling to get it to give me accurate and steady readings . The % fluctuates erratically from 3% to 70%.

Anybody tried these ?

I was just going to say Gasit advertise that Truma Bluetooth level gauge. Not tried it myself.

I have 2 gaslow bottles with gaslows own Bluetooth sensor and they work fine. They fit right in to the bottle valves so really accurate. Not sure how the Truma ones fit on to the system.

Can only speak from my experience but….

I have refillable Gaslow cylinders. Ensure bit of the supplied grease on the magnet and centre on bottom of cylinder. Need to make sure when the cylinder sits on ground it does not sit on the device and moves it when you place cylinder or it lifts cylinder up. I put a little bit of anti slip mat under the cylinder edge to give a few millimetres clearance. Leave to settle for ten minutes. Adjust settings for cylinder size etc and adjust reading to ten secs as it saves battery.

If there is fluctuating readings and it is a refillable cylinder it may be bouncing signal off the internals in which case you may need to try moving reader slightly to find a position where this doesn’t happen.

Good luck!

I’m sorry to say that despite my best efforts the Mopeka unit continues doing all sorts of daft things . I have replaced the battery and despite being a brand new one out of the pack the unit is telling me that the battery level is ok to begin with then after 15 mins or so the unit is telling me the battery level is low ( red) . Readings on the bottle levels are still erratic despite moving the unit around underneath . I’ve tried re- syncing the unit to the app but still no joy.
I called GasIt( which is where I bought the Mopeka) and they tell me that they have stopped selling the units and moved over to the Trauma one because they felt the Mopeka back up was poor.
sSo my thoughts are to bite the bullet buy the Truma one .

If you haven’t chucked it away, here’s a whole thread on similar issue and solutions....or not!
