Lots but slow learner.
Bit of a novice question but will my UK gas bottle exchange for a bottle in Spain?

You will find Spanish bottles for sale on sites in Spain, or markets then go to a ironmongers shop and buy the adapter for it like the one I bought below.

Just put our 2nd bottle on (1st was well down when we left UK) don't know how long a full bottle last's (of course it's depends how much you use it). This is another reason we prefer leccy.

I bought that bottle of a guy on a site in Spain it’s a light one, I think 11kilo. It was full when I bought it for about 10 euros. That was five years ago. I exchanged for refill around Spain while travelling and it’s still in my locker now with a 13 kilo U.K. Bottle. I just use the Spanish one as back up when the other one runs out until I get a refill for U.K. one. Don’t know how much is in it but when it runs out I will sell it empty unless I plan on going back to Spain. 👍

I tour only abroad and have refillables but if you don't go over that much I guess you'd get a lot of leccy for the price of fitting refillables. Not that one has to be concerned about cost but I prefer the convenience of refillables.

I bought a Jumbo Adaptor from Hamilton Gas and a conversion link to join it to my UK propane pigtail.

The campsite I should have been staying at next week for 2 months at Isla Plana we’re happy to let me have a Spanish bottle to use, or buy? A Cepsa agent. Hence my buying the adaptor.

Depends where you are, a friend of mine gets his regular Calor bottles refilled at a Motorhome campsite in Santiago De La Ribera when he stays there. I personally wouldn’t do that but he has had no problems so far. I’ve heard of other such places too but no personal info.

Thanks all.
Can't be messing about with regulators and stuff. If it was a straight forward swop then fine.
We will just have to be careful how much gas we use on these NON SITE F.Loading sites ;)
I think it's the bloody heating that takes the bulk as it's bloody freezing.
Not coming again in March............although the 2 day's in Porto were really nice.
Pissing down again most of yesterday afternoon and night.

Where are you heading it's possible to refill a completely empty calor on the Algarve if your heading that way.

The GPL on the left the bottle has tobe completely empty he will check then he only puts in a measured amount of liquid it used to be €20 for a 13kg bottle. 20 litres of liquid.

We are not going that way unfortunately. From Cascais we are taking shortest run to Seville. (decided to abort the Evora visit)

If you've got a regulator plumbed into your gas pioing in the gas locker, you needs an ADAPTOR!!!! to fit on the Spanish bottle and NOT!!! a regulator.
We bought a connector from a Spanish caravan shop. Seems there two types of connector. First is one that takes bottle pressure direct to the regulator. Much like a UK system. Second is one that takes bottle pressure down to two bar and then onto the regulator for 30mbar. Either way works on vans with inbuilt regulators apparently. Something to do with Spanish regs for bottles/ regulators for domestic use.

Why is that? Evora is worth visit.
On a bit of a tight schedule and decided we want an extra day in Seville.
Woman and i both agree we are trying to do too much in Portugal as we have not been for 30/40 years.
And the weather is proper S---e

Maybe next time along with Tomar and a few other places that have come to light.
This Cascais coast is a bit nice.

I would presume it’s to do with the requirement to reduce gas cylinder pressure to medium pressure.
Same requirement all over Europe for external gas cylinder supplies to leisure vehicles.
