So i had a bbq point added when at Basildogs place to get Gaslow installed. It’s tee’d before the regulator, so its HP right? So I need a regulator for my Cadac 2 cook from the bbq point on the van! Forgot to ask😐

hi, I believe yes to the regulator, but more importantly, did you read the thread on a gas bbq point being tee’d off and subsequently failing, the fire it caused, plus the damage, when the tee failed.

Frightening beyond belief, especially as it was believed to have been done professionally in the first place.

I think it'll be low pressure, teed after the regulator ?
That's how mine is anyway with Gaslow and external BBQ point.
I just have the flexible rubber gas pipe with quick fit connections from BBQ to ext connection, no additional regulator, yours may well be different of course.
I'm suprised you weren't advised when it was fitted ?

If that’s T eed off before the regulator then it’s dangerous.
Not only would you need a regulator but also a HP hose to the regulator.
It’s a professional install with plastic covered solid copper pipe to the bbq point!
I noticed you get hp or lp Cadac bbqs so do you get hp Cadac 2 cook pro as well?

I stand to be corrected but the only difference I know in Cadacs is canister fuelled or direct connection to a BBQ point.
I have never heard of a high pressure BBQ point. The consequences of someone plugging in a BBQ straight to HP is frightening.
Please also note on A HP hose the fittings are swaged ( professionally crimped) not jubilee clipped.

one thing i am very confident of, is that if its been done by Basildog then it will have been fitted correctly in the correct place and using the correct methods.

as for the article from 18 years ago, whilst i have sympathy for them and its a complete shocker, i dont recall having seen any other similar reports since .... perhaps the incident was due to a poor installation in the first place or the pipe being subjected to the stress of a packed locker ... it shouldnt have happened and thankfully no one was seriously injured.

I think you are misinformed canister fuelled is hp! Whether a canister or gas pipe supplies the gas is irrelevant.

A BBQ point is no different from any other has fitting, reading this I conclude that in this instance the fitting was not installed correctly in the first place, for the tee to move any amount the pipe has to be unsupported. Sadly there are many people doing work they should not be doing, my advice is make sure you check reviews and are sure anyone working on the gas is competent.
