Evening all,
Just wanted to run a quick question to see if anyone else has had the same issue.few months ago I lined our garage with foam matting from screw fix. Noticed a few days ago condensation under the complete area. So did the obvious checked door seals all seem good. Checked the seal that seals the garage to the body by spraying water, again no water ingress
So just wondering if anyone else has noticed the same problem when lining their garage.
Also when matting is removed and doors left open condensation drys out very quickly.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Cheers

Don't put any foam matting down it acts like an insulation barrier and condensation will form between it and the van floor, I had a similar issue with a previous van and was told by a dealer when I took the van for a PX that there was 36% damp showing in the garage, watched him do it and was surprised so I took the foam out and went to the dealer I had bought the van from as still under warranty... with no foam, very low reading.

It’s just condensation created by insulating the floor. Without insulation the floor will be at the same temperature as the air and moisture cannot condense out.

Just a wee update on the garage fiasco. Had a better look today and noticed very small amount of water stain down the wall behind a length of conduit. So under the van and looks like it will be spray coming off the wheels when wet. So will extend the mud flaps and I have run a slither of black sikaflex over the seal so all should be good now :giggle:

Hi Burge,

Brilliant what a simple thing. I'm over the van later so will check the two seals are in correct and after the rain we have had today I can check the blue roll I left by the doors yesterday to see if it's wet or dry.

Cheers
