Fiat Ducato E765p
Hi there, I'm just looking for some advice. I've got a Fiat Ducato E765P motorhome - 2009. I've noticed when the engine is running it no longer trips over to engine battery. It comes up with a fault 10. The fault seems to be with the fuse board, the 20amp fuse didn't blow, but a connector attached to the fuse board itself is blackened, and we think that's the fridge connector. Seems like it overheated and now when the engine is running there's no power going to the fridge. The fridge remains on LPG so it's not a disaster at least. Wondering if it's worth going to the trouble of trying to fix the problem or let sleeping dogs lie as this could be a source of overheating even if it's fixed. Getting a new fuse board is impossible, you can only get a refurbished one for nearly the price of a new one. In fact you have to send off your old one for them to exchange - not ideal to say the least. The alternator is already powering a B to B charger for the lithium leisure batteries, wondering if this will be more effective if it's not also needed to power the fridge too? Any thoughts?

Depending on which make/model of fridge you have it could be worth checking the fridge PCB as it may be in a similar condition.
Thanks Geoff, it's a good shout. I had an engineer look at the back of fridge. He confirmed it's not receiving any power. And he found the fault with the fuse board, I'm 'guessing' he took a look at the fridge PCB. It's a bit of a dilemma because it's counterintuitive not to get it fixed, but I'm wondering if it would on cause another problem if I do, i.e. same or worse maybe. Ideally of course I get it fixed and it's fine. I was just wondering if any folks on here had a similar experience. If it was a simple fix I'd do it, but it involves sending off the fuse board itself and as I'm using the motorhome that's pretty inconvenient.

If it is a Thetford 3000 series fridge the PCB on some models can have problems with burned connections on it , which , if you have this type of fridge , may have caused your fuse box problem and fault code . The PCB would have needed to be removed to to see this problem.
If this is not the case perhaps a loose connection at the fuse box has caused the burning and replacing the plug along with cleaning its connections is what is needed , maybe a local electrical repair person could do this for you.

Thanks. Yes, worth a try to see if a local repair could be done. No harm in trying.
