How are you getting on with the RMB, quality?

Not been to see it yet!
Hoping to see the Rmb on Monday after travelling down from Scotland on Sunday

Been to see the RMB and test drove it!
It’s a big wallowing boat of a thing! And even with a turbo is SOOOOOO SLOOOWW never mind I wasn’t looking for a racing car but…….
It’s a quality made motorhome and will outlast me BUT the automatic gearbox has a leak, the engine has an oil leak and the turbo has an oil leak and the rear springs are saggy. Oh and the webasto heating doesn’t work or the cab air conditioning and the passenger side window double glazing is misted ( £3000 replacement) oh and the under fitted lpg tank is 30 years old
So the caravan bit (Rmb) is fine(ish)but the Mercedes bit is tired and needs a lot of fettling. So I am going to have a serious talk with my mechanic pal tonight and see what he says but I think I know what he’s going to say

Walk away fast, did he tell you all this before you made the journey?

Yes if the engine part hasn’t been looked after then the habitation side won’t have either.
Don’t bother there’s plenty of vans out there.

IF he had even told me the double glazing was blind I wouldn’t have travelled!
I went with him to the “mot” and luckily got a look under the van for 15 mins ( longer than the mot )
To be fair to the owner he wasn’t very practical or mechanically minded and didn’t even know how to take the engine cover off to check the transmission fluid and he’s had it 9 years!!!!

Well that’s torn it
My mechanic said just run away!!!!
Seemingly it’s an engine out job to repair the oil leak and to repair the turbo
So the search goes on
I may buy a new possl 2win from Germany ……..sigh!

That sentence would have been enough to get me back in the car, he obviously has not looked after it.
