Hi all,

We were toying with the idea in the future of selling up and full-timing, if only for a couple of years to just do some extended travelling, and it got me wondering what people do with respects to bank accounts, licenses etc and their address? What address is on your license and V5 and what address do you give if/when this is a requirement on an online form?

Many thanks.

A family member is a good option. We are lucky enough to have a business adress so we are registered there for voting and doctors.

Find a friend with a holiday home.

My ex brother in law, who has lived out of the UK for well over 20 years, still has our holiday home as his 'official' address as far as officials in the UK are concerned. We get occasional bank letters and if he ever needs it we can provide a AST (Assured Shorthold Tenancy) document.

The cottage next door is owned by a family that live in Hong Kong.
They have been there since the 1980's and I guess will only come back when either the political situation or their health situation forces them to. Again they have everything 'official' registered at the address as the property has been in the family since the 1950's if not earlier.

If you don't have a convenient friend with a holiday home, then 'rent' (for £1 a month) a friends garden shed or garage.
You can buy a blank AST form from W H Smiths
Fit a letter box to the door.
Move everything to the new address including your right to vote

If you find yourself with a few friends or family members willing to let you use their address, choose the one that has the postcode that produces the cheapest insurance premium.

We FT’d for many years, and wanted an address independently from family and freinds so used Boatmail.
Still have it now to keep U.K. bank account 😉
Back in the day, had driving licence, insurance and V5 all registered at the street address they give you👍

Is the street address the place where their office is or how does is work?
