Fuel shortage

Tesco with us have a few pumps off. Its probably because the fuel there is 10p a litre cheaper than the other garages and people will now rather wait and queue at the cheaper garages than pile more profits into those that are north of £180 a litre

In fairness compared to independants, supermarkets can absorb the losses on pricing rather than smaller garages profiteering

Fair point actually, I just assumed that everyone was out to screw me out of every penny I have ever earned!! Just wish I have bought a load of Diesel when it was just over £1 a litre in 2020!!

I know right! I nearly bought a 1000 litres of heating oil when it was cheap too. Regretting not doing that now!

Peter Regnier of Oil Price Assessments Limited said OPAL's provisional end-of-week profit margin enjoyed by petrol retailers had declined to 3.65 pence a litre from 5.9p last week and 7.8p at the very end of December.

Oh, it will……. I have always maintained that there is little margin the retail business and the money comes from convince shopping thus attached

The wholesale price of fuel went up about the same amount as the 5p reduction.

What a surprise !!!

Must have both been on the same day.
It never went down here to go back up.
I saw the ragheads are indecisive about cutting production to keep the price up.

Start with the huge Cambo oil field to the west of Shetland. 'Discovered' years ago.
North sea still has plenty.
