Hi all, just got to NEC for motorhome show and I have diesel coming out of fuel filter housing, any one got idea what I will be?
Thanks in advance

It’s very well known problem. You can try new filter and use the correct tool to tighten the housing, but most of use just fit a Complete new filter housing (already has new filter inside) and know that way it won’t leak again.

This often happens a while after it’s been serviced. IMG_1162.jpeg

Got breakdown here now, it isn't leaking whilst he's running engine, he thinks I might have pushed pipe back in when I checked it???

Fingers crossed for you. Nice simple fix if it was. Keep an eye on it

If your van has had a service with a fuel filter change then it's likely that they did not use the correct tool to hold the filter casing to torque the top to the correct setting.
Hi, it was serviced in July been OK until I was on M6 near nec, the motorway is shocking, pot holes and I hit one 😳

I had it happen 2 or 3 times on my 2012 Bessacarr. As said above a design fault on that model. I ended up finally buying a Fiat complete replacement from Coastal Motorhomes at 1/2 Fiat price of £250!!!

Managed to get motorhome home but it's leaking diesel from filter, I have messaged a seller on Ebay to purchase correct one. Watched utube video and dies not look too difficult to change (I think) lol.

It’s easily changed even easier if you have the time/ability/wish to remove headlight, but you don’t have to.
Make sure the replacement is a OE or quality item, some of the eBay are cheap copies.

Had this a couple of years ago, no leak whilst running stationary, recovery was about pack up and leave, let's run it around the carpark before you.
Soon as engine under load fuel everywhere. Was a Sunday, so recovered home. New filter housing fitted

Yes. UFI is ok.
I linked to coastal motorhome above. They sell at £90. Don’t know how much on eBay. Coastal also sell via eBay. You can tell as their photos have their name across them.

£90 seems very expensive for a fuel filter but I saw further up the thread that Fiat charge £250!

You can buy cheaper but UFI filters are more expensive and cheaper ones not any good. Yeah Fiat charge £199 for replacement but after shopping around and getting recommendations from funsters, coastal motorhomes where very helpful and replied very quickly. 12 months warranty also

That's the danger. You shop around and think you've got a bargain but the product might be substandard.

Coast motorhomes have a good reputation on this group, and if it's crap I will personally take it back and shove it up his nose 😂

I was talking generally rather than about this particular product.

Yeah, alot of rubbish online I agree, I always ask on the group for recommendations. The original fiat fuel filter and housing on this year where awful, so I have read and prone to leaking and the breakdown mechanic that attended yesterday didn't have a clue. Typical 🙄

I think they are only prone to leaking if the proper tool and torque wrench settings are not used in filter replacement!

Hi, I purchased a new filter housing from Coastal motorhomes and fitted it yesterday with the help of a utube video. It was fairly easy to be honest. Thanks again for your help 👍
