Thanks for all the replies on the leveling system we've gone with the people in Doncaster.
The next question is ,they (Sap)
Have recommended a front suspension upgrade.
I've had a word with the fiat dealer and they don't do one or recommend one.
What's the thoughts on this is it worth doing ,has anyone had it done.
I'd be greatfull for advice
Thanks in advance
Malcolm

Sumo springs also do a front suspension upgrade for the Ducato.

Why do you need to change the front suspension? It may be a recommendation but it's not necessarily necessary.

We had rear semi-air put on ours by SAP and could've put it on the front/replaced the springs as well. We uprated to 3850kg and the semi-air increased the rear axle capacity from 2000kg to 2240kg and whilst we could've increased the front from 1850kg but couldn't see the point as it wouldn't have given us any more usable capacity as you can't store enough at the front end to make use of it ... unless of course you are built like rhinos (not elephants as they have trunks so go at the rear)! :giggle:

Depends what they claim for it and if you think it would be a benefit.

Our VW Transporter has aftermarket shocks. Transforms the ride.

OEM shocks for a van are designed for full and also empty vans. They will always be a compromise.

The previous owner had SAP do the front end of my carthago with VB heavy duty springs and is a hell of a lot better than my last moho which had standard springs and struts👍

We have Goldschmidt uprated front springs on our 2014 Fiat based Hymer and the front end feels significantly better than our previous standard front end Fiat based Swift. The front end is higher and has more travel, bump soaking up ability.
It felt extremely comfortable when we first changed over motorhomes.

The gist of it is,though not needed as you rightly pointed out because loading the front is quite difficult. Under heavy braking and cornering though the dynamics shift, going from back to front and side to side. Some additional spring loading can help absorb these forces, improving cornering, stopping, and general road holding manners. It's a personal call I suppose.
