We are travelling down to Spain and our Dometic RMDT 8505 fridge seems to be not working properly. Not getting cold enough. So far we have had it on gas, 12v and 240v, but still the same. There are no warnings or flashing lights

We are crossing into Spain today and heading for Calpe via Pamplona Zaragoza and Tuerel. Can anybody recommend a fridge engineer or motorhome repairer that can look it please, either on our route or in the Calpe/Benidorm area.

There is a Domestic engineer that we used in the Valencia area...he will come to you...he repaired our fridge in a car park....now I need to find his details....
As you are quite aware Easter starts on Thursday...so you ain't going to get anything done until the following Monday or Tuesday...as some regions have Monday as a regional holiday...some don't..l will see what I can find..

We just missed each other. We were in Javea until yesterday and flew back to the UK for a couple of weeks.

Check the door seal is sealing correctly all the way around with a piece of paper Peter.
With a piece about an inch wide, close the the seal on it in various places around the seal and see if the paper is gripped.

OK, more info. It looks like the 12v and 240v are OK. I think the problem is with the gas. It is not making its usual roaring sound. Still lights but I guess small flame. So clean the jet??

My next question is how does this box comes off?

Looking at the image and the amount of soot l would suggest the exhaust needs cleaning a simple task, this will do it or a simple fabrication of a piece of wire.

If you pop the opaque plastic condensation catching tray of the pipe or slide it along, it will give you access to the self tapping screw that I have arrowed, which looks to be holding the box in position.

We used a guy called Tambo, he was based between Benicarlo and Peniscola that was 2019. It looks like the same fault we had , he was really helpful (y) and fixed whilst we waited, good luck

Thanks to all who replied. Sorry for the late reply, but have been driving. The good news is that I think I got it sorted. Worked on it in the car park Aire at Tuerel. As I thought the jet was a bit blocked and I cleared it all out using the Dyson. And now I have a roaring flame again and cold food.

Again many thanks to all and especially Paul Two on Tour showing me how to get to the gubbins.

Did you get extra extra special dispensation from Angela to use the Dyson, (or is it yours?)

Try turning the temperature UP slightly....IE:....if it's on +4°c turn it to +5°c
if turned too low it has an adverse effect in the Spanish sun
